The Mysteries of the Mind

The Mysteries of the Mind

Carl Gustav Jung

Carl Gustav Jung was an influential thinker and a man dedicated to solving the deep mysteries of the unconscious mind. Understanding the need for (and power of) balance and harmony, Jung believed that science and logic do not lead to personal happiness or fulfillment. Instead, he suggested that integrating and connecting the dots between folklore, dreams, art, religion, mythology and the unconscious were key to unlocking the creative power of the individual.

Jung was an analytical psychologist who spent considerable time working on the human personality. He was inspired by his work with Sigmund Freud, schizophrenic patients, as well as his own experiences. Jung focused his research on the unconscious and spiritual aspects of the human mind, the archetypes of the collective unconscious, as well as popularizing and adding to the terms 'introvert' and 'extrovert' - language we often use to describe different personality types today.

Through an extensive education and by authoring many books, Carl Jung contributed a great deal to the study of the human psyche. However, he did not only have a deep influence on psychology but he also impacted philosophy, design, and the arts.
