Well it’s not really a Flash mob, since it was coordinated by whatever agency is doing this type of work for A&E. If you are so inclined to look up the URL at the end, I’ll save you the trouble of typing it in. It is a promo for some new reality show called Hammer Time.
I do wonder if agencies and brands co-opting this experience will taint and perhaps bring an end to the authentic community initiated experiences. Maybe instead of organizing amazing events like the light sabre battle at the ROM, Newmindspace becomes highly paid consultants to ad agencies trying to sell their clients “experiential” or “viral” campaigns (pretentious quotation marks FTW).
Rant aside, I did enjoy the video.
