03. rapid prototyping.
Rapid experience prototyping is a methodology to produce business and design concepts quickly and early enough to facilitate strategic discussions, user inputs and de-risk projects.
A process of quickly assembling a semi-functional model in order to test various aspects of a business concept, illustrate ideas or features and gather early user feedback. Prototyping is often treated as an integral part of the experience design process, where it typically reduces project risk and cost. Our process involves one or more prototypes created in a series of iterations where each prototype is influenced by the performance of previous designs and customer feedback. When the prototype is sufficiently refined and meets business objectives, functional requirements and design parameters, it proceeds to development.
Rapid experience design prototyping
… eliminates inefficiencies of long planning cycles
… facilitates the transfer of tacit knowledge across different disciplines
… brings critical pieces together early to creating tangible futures
… is about the experience - not the product
